What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of natural plant extracts, or essential oils to promote health and well being. The oils can be used for medicinal and therapeutic purposes either aromatically, internally, or topically. While all oils can’t be used in the same way, they each offer the opportunity for you to improve the health of your body, mind, and spirit naturally.
How long has aromatherapy been around?
Aromatherapy has been practiced by different cultures for centuries. From the Ancient Egyptians to the Greek, there has been evidence found that plants have been used for the medicinal and therapeutic properties in one form or another.
How I can use aromatherapy?
Essential oils can be used internally (by mouth), aromatically (by smell) or topically (by skin). How the oil can be used is typically dependent on the supplier of the oil and the oil itself.
What are the benefits of aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is said to offer a vast number of benefits, including but not limited to:
manage pain
improve sleep quality
reduce stress, agitation, and anxiety
fight bacteria, virus, or fungus
improve digestion
boost immunity
**There is limited research and scientific evidence on the benefits of aromatherapy in some areas and such, many remedies aren’t FDA approved.
